The root directory in Media Manager is your Joomla! folder "Images"

You can create new folder by clicking on the icon Create Folder.
But, in the same time, you can create a new folder using context menu. To open context menu, make a right-click and select "Create Folder"
To rename a folder, you need - right click on the folder name. In the opened context menu select Rename. In the opened modal window enter the new folder name and click on the green button "Save".
Image you can Rename in the same way.
To delete Folder / Image, you can use context menu and select "Delete" or you can click on the icon "Delete".
If you want to place a Folder / Image into another existing category you can move it using feature "Move It".
To move a folder / image, you need to select it and then click on the icon "Move To". In the opened modal window, you need to select the parent folder and click on the button "Save". The advantage of this method is that you can move several categories.
Also, you can move folder / images using context menu. Right click on the folder / image. In the opened context menu select "Move To". In the opened modal window select parent folder and click on the button "Save".
