How to set up Version History in Joomla website builder Gridbox?
Version History allows you to view and manage previous versions of a page in the Joomla website builder Gridbox. It helps you track changes and restore an earlier state of the page. Each time a page version is saved, Gridbox stores it as a separate entry in the version list. In this tutorial, we will show you how to access and set up Version History in the Joomla website builder Gridbox from the page settings.
Saving to Version History
In the Gridbox editor, click the More Actions icon ➝ Save to Version History.
View and Manage Page Versions
Go to Page Settings ➝ open Version History ➝ the Versions tab.
On this tab, a list of all saved page versions is displayed. Each version contains information about the saved state of the page and can be opened for preview. Joomla website builder Gridbox allows you to manage saved versions using the available controls:
- View version — opens the selected version for preview by clicking on it
- Rename version — allows you to change the name of a saved version for easier identification
- Delete version — removes the selected version from the list
- Restore version — to restore a previous version, click on the required version and then save the page to confirm changes.
Version History Settings
Page Settings ➝ open Version History ➝ the Global Settings tab.
Version History includes global settings that affect how versions are created and stored across all pages:
- Auto Save — automatically creates a new version each time the page is saved
- Max. Versions — defines the maximum number of versions stored for each page. Older versions are removed automatically when the limit is reached
- Cleanup — deletes all saved versions across the site.
