How to protect reviews from spam in the Gridbox Reviews App?




Gridbox Reviews App allows you to protect reviews on your Joomla sites from spam and abuse. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to enable spam protection in the Gridbox Reviews App for Joomla.




Captcha


1. In the Gridbox dashboard click the icon Reviews ➝ Settings ➝ Anti-Spam ➝ Captcha. 
2. Select reCAPTCHA.

3. Enable the option Only For Guest (displays reCAPTCHA only for non-registered users).

Spam filters


Spam filters in the Gridbox Reviews App are a list of banned emails, words, IP addresses. Reviews containing banned items automatically moved to spam. 


  • Banned Emails are an option that blocks reviews with email addresses that you add to this field. To add a value to a field, paste or type it and press Enter.   
  • Banned Words are an option that blocks reviews with words that you add to this field. To add a value to a field, paste or type it and press Enter. 
  • Banned IP Addresses are an option that blocks reviews with IP addresses that you add to this field. To add a value to a field, paste or type it and press Enter.

  • Block Links are an option that blocks reviews with links. To automatically move reviews with links to spam, enable the toggle button.  
  • Auto-Deleting is an option that automatically deletes submissions with banned words, emails, IP addresses, and links. To automatically delete reviews with banned items, enable the toggle button.
