Dear Balbooa Team,
Can we please have an update specifically targetting power users!
Just out of curiosity, and this is no critique, don't get upset, but have any of you ever needed to make changes to over 200 pages in Gridbox like for instance changing the assigned template.
- If you did do this, you will quickly find out that the modal (settings) needs to have a setting to become larger so you can immediately see the template field when opening the modal. Obviously, when a user clicks on enlarge modal, it needs to remember this so that the next modal is automatically big. We used our code injector to do this:
div#settings-dialog {
height: 100vh;
top: 0;
}
div#settings-dialog.ba-modal-lg.modal .modal-body {
max-height: 100vh !important;
}
div#settings-dialog.ba-modal-lg.modal .modal-body .tab-content,
div#settings-dialog.ba-modal-lg.modal .modal-body .tab-content .tab-pane.active {
height: 100vh !important;
}
Very crude, we know, but it got the job done.
- Another thing you will quickly be wishing for is bulk editing solutions. Like, why can't we assign a template to 100 items at once? I know this is a ton of work, but it would save the end user a lot of work when they need to make changes to 100s of items.
- One more thing, whenever you need to assign a category in any element or tag, why is it always adding the category you click on while there are circles in front of it. Do you know how irritating it becomes if you need to add 20+ categories to a certain element.
-- This means at least 40 clicks
-- When you don't have a screen that is about 1 and a half meter long it also means that after about 10 items you need to scroll down to click on 'category' which opens the selection screen that you cannot see because you are scrolled down so you have to scroll back up to see the selection screen. Then you need to scroll through the selection screen to select the correct category, which you can then click.
- I would very much prefer to just click one time on category then see a full screen list of all the categories, in this list select through checkboxes all the categories I want to add to this element and then click a button 'add to element'. This would have mean that if you want to assign 20 categories, you could do it with 22 clicks and probably in less than a minute.
- I timed myself doing this with the original way, and all the scrolling up and down and extra clicks took me more than 5 minutes. So a loss of 4 minutes. And then I remembered s*** I have to do this 14 more times.
If you wish I will make a full proper documentation file of all the items with screenshots and examples, the lot with all the features about every single thing that my employees and I walk up against when working as a power user on Gridbox websites. Do not get me wrong, We love working with it, but as you probably know there is always room for improvement.
Thank you,
LoginSecure, Elmer
