I am writing to ask for your advice, as I highly value your product and always make it a priority to use your tools in my projects.
The last three days have been quite an "adventure" for me due to a massive malware attack on my websites (redirects to casinos, third-party links, etc.). I know your team creates a fantastic product, and I understand these things just happen in web development — right now, I am simply trying to quickly clean up the consequences.
I am already actively fixing the issue: restoring backups from July 7th, and changing all database passwords and user credentials across the board.
However, I am stuck with the websites I was actively working on during these past few days. There are important changes there that I really don't want to lose by doing a full rollback.
Could you please advise me on the best way to handle this? If I export the Gridbox pages and import them into a fresh, clean Joomla installation, how safe is that?
Is there a risk of the virus "attaching" itself to the export file if malicious .php scripts have already been found in the baforms/uploads folder? I would be incredibly grateful for your professional insight on this situation — how best to save my work while guaranteeing the system is fully cleaned.
Thank you so much for your hard work and for making such awesome tools! I look forward to hearing your advice.
Best regards,
Tanya
