we are currently configuring a form on a Joomla website and have a question regarding the confirmation (autoresponder) email.
Our Joomla installation sends emails via SMTP using an IONOS mailbox. However, the client would like the confirmation emails to appear as if they were sent from a different mailbox hosted on Microsoft 365, as this is the address customers should see and use for replies.
When we enter the Microsoft 365 email address in the From Email field of the Submit Button settings, the confirmation email is no longer delivered.
Is there a supported way to:
- send the email using the SMTP account configured in Joomla while displaying the Microsoft 365 address as the sender or reply address, or
- configure the confirmation email to be sent directly from the Microsoft 365 mailbox instead?
Could you please let us know the recommended configuration for this scenario?
