With many of the above tools you are already familiar, and they are available in the first version of Joomla website builder Gridbox. We made a lot of changes and improvements and today we want to tell you what we have changed.

Google Fonts

Typography is one of the most important elements of web design. Google Fonts is an incredible tool that provides a huge number of free fonts.

How to Add a New Font?

In Gridbox 2.x we decided to change the method of adding new fonts. Now the addition of fonts has become much easier and more convenient. The process of adding a new font can see in the picture below.

How to Update Fonts?

We also took into account the fact, that Google Fonts is constantly updated and new fonts are added. And if the new font is not available on the list, you need to click on the icon "Update fonts".

Live Code Editor

The code editor is the ideal tool for advanced Gridbox users. With the built-in code editor, you can set write your own CSS styles for elements, and also you can write JavaScript code.

You can write the code directly in the editor! And most importantly, the added CSS code is applied instantly, you can immediately see the results without refreshing the page. Note! results of JavaScript code you can view only on the front-end.

In Gridbox 2.x, the button for opening the code editor was moved to the toolbar. Also, we want to remind you that added code operates within the theme, not for all websites.

JCE and CKE Text Editors

Ladies and gentlemen, with great pleasure we want to inform you - Yes, Gridbox 2.x will support JCE and CKE content editors.

JCE Editor

JCE content editor is one of the most popular text editors for Joomla! CMS. Now you will have the opportunity to use your favorite content editor with Gridbox.

To activate the JCE editor in Gridbox, you only need to install it. The native CKEditor will be automatically replaced with the JCE editor.


CKEditor is the native Gridbox editor, and we also made a small but important update. We added an Image Browser. To add a picture to the editor, you need to click on the Browse button and select an image in the media manager.

Media Manager

Media manager, we took from our component Balbooa Joomla Gallery.

The Media manager is not just an Image picker, the media manager is a full-featured file manager that allows you to effectively manage your images.

The media manager allows you to work with folders and images. You can create, rename, move, delete items (images and folders). Also, items you can move using Drop and Drop.

But most importantly, by your mouse right-click on the item, you can open a context menu with additional options. Manage your media files quickly and efficiently!

Today we reviewed the helper tools of the Joomla Website Builder Gridbox. As you can see, we changed almost everything to make Gridbox as convenient as it is possible.
