All these are our primary goals in the development of new functionality. We always strive to make complex things simple. Therefore, today we are pleased to present you with new functionality for the Joomla website builder Gridbox that will help you save time and optimize your workflow. So, shall we begin? Let's go!

Default SEO Settings & Schema Markup for Joomla Website Builder Gridbox

Default SEO Settings

Do you want to speed up and simplify the process of creating and editing meta titles and meta descriptions for all Gridbox pages? You bet!

Gridbox 2.12.20 has a new “Default SEO Settings” option that allows you to set default values for meta titles, meta descriptions, social media, sitemap and schema markup.

Just how important is this functionality? Workflow automation. For ease of understanding, let's look at a simple example. So, you have an online store. Using data tags, you can set meta titles for all products in your store. In addition, if you need to make changes, you don't need to open the settings for each product. Now you can easily set and change SEO settings from one place. That's amazing, isn't it?!

How to set up Default SEO?

In the SEO tab of the page and category settings, you will find the Default Settings button on click that opens a modal window.

The value must be entered using data tags.

The availability of data tags depends on the app in which you enter default SEO settings. Read more details about data tags in the documentation: Default SEO Settings.

Inheritance Hierarchy of Default SEO Settings

The first thing to understand is that the values entered in the page settings will apply to all pages within the app. Similarly with categories, by entering values in the category settings, they will apply to all categories in the app.

By default, all pages and categories inherit values from the Default SEO Settings. But if you enter SEO values in the item settings, these values will override the Default SEO Settings.

Schema Markup

Schema Markup has always been a stumbling block. Schema Markup has been implemented partially in Gridbox. We could not implement it fully for a simple reason. Flexibility and the ability to create and delete fields in Gridbox Apps played against us.

Today, we are happy to announce that we have found a solution! In the settings of each page, in the SEO tab, you will find a new Schema Markup section.

The uniqueness of this method is its flexibility. You can use any schema type, from Article to Website. Also, don't forget Schema Markup is available in default SEO settings.

We don't know how you feel now, but we're impressed by the grandeur and possibilities of the new functionality. Just stop for a minute and think about it. Gridbox provides much more than anything else. An XML sitemap, canonical URLs, and now default SEO settings and full control over Google's structured data with Shema markup settings. Powerful SEO pack already inside Gridbox.

So update the Gridbox to improve your site SEO ranking right now. And we keep developing new tools to make your Gridbox experience even better.
